CTH Post Graduate Diploma in Hospitality & Tourism Management

Awarding body: Confederation of Tourism & Hospitality (CTH)
Level: Level 7 on the NQF (National Qualification Framework)
Duration: 18 months
Work placement: 6 months

Modules: 1. Hospitality & Tourism Marketing Strategies
2. Hospitality & Tourism Strategic Planning
3. Management & Leadership across Cultures.
4. Research Methods in Hospitality & Tourism

Assessment: All modules will be assessed only through coursework i.e. report writing of 3000 words.
Entry requirements:
1. Hospitality and/or tourism degree from a recognised University
2. Graduates from other fields with Degree from recognised University.
3. 3- Year Diploma in hospitality and/or tourism from recognised institution.
4. IELTS 6.0 or other evidence of competence in English at this level.

Course Fees:
Tuition fees: £ 4400
Registration fees : £300
Placement fees: £ 500
CTH exam fees: Total £ 240 @ £60 per module – to be paid by the student after arrival in UK to register for exams.

Progression:
On successful completion of the Post graduate Diploma students will get 120 credits. The students can then enrol onto the final stages of the M.Sc. in Hospitality & Tourism Management from University of Sunderland. The students will be exempt from all exams for the Masters degree. They will only have to prepare and submit a dissertation which is a project report (approx 20000 words). The students will not have to attend the University for the Dissertation but will have to be in e-mail contact with their supervisor (appointed by the University) and submit the dissertation in stages. Students will have to pay a fee of £ 1500 to the University of Sunderland directly on enrolment.
On completing the Masters degree the student becomes eligible to apply for the 2 year Post study work visa whereby he can work unlimited in the UK for 2 years.
